I’ve finally gotten around to doing an ‘about’ page. For most of you this is probably going to be stuff you already know about me. As of writing this (June 12, 2006), d-prime is up to 40 posts and 330 comments. I’d like to thank you all for your support and I sincerely hope that you guy keep it up, especially those who comment.

My name is David Alexander Ameny Olwa, and I live in the City of Champions (in other words, Edmonton). I’m taking engineering at the University of Alberta. I’ve finished first year, and I’m hoping to get into electrical co-op. After I finish my bachelor’s, I’d like to take the U of A’s joint MBA/Master’s of Engineering program.

I’m Zimbabwean, but to tell the truth, I don’t know much about Zimbabwe. I guess for all intents and purposes I’m Canadian since I’ve lived in Canada for 18 years (I’m 19). I live in Edmonton, but I consider myself a Calgarian living in Edmonton.

I’ve been gamer for life or at least since my mom got me an NES when I was five. Now I probably go overboard with games. I have 4 consoles and 2 portables, not that I even have the time to play them! Right now I’m trying to finish San Andreas after a year of hiatus, and I’m enjoying my shiny new DS Lite.

More on my geekiness. I will admit that I’m a trekker. I’ve probably watched almost every episode of Next Generation, Voyager, and Enterprise. Next Generation is the best series in my opinion, and Picard is the best captain. As a matter of fact, I only started watching American Dad because Patrick Stewart had a recurring role as Bullock.

I’m a hockey fan. Flames all the way! I’m a little disappointed with their post- season effort this season, and being forced to cheer on the Oilers. Despite the differences between Edmonton and Calgary, I still wish them well. Canada needs another cup.

I’ve always had a fascination with Japan and its culture. I took Japanese 10, 20 and 30 during high school. I really enjoyed the class and +100% marks. I wish I could have gone on the Japan Trip, but university was still in session. Unfortunately, the engineering curriculum is killing my knowledge of Japanese language. I’m hoping to go to Japan one day. I’m taking Judo with the U of A Judo club, and I got my yellow belt back in December.

Well, that’s all about me. Hopefully you learned something new about me even if it’s just the fact that I have a fourth name. :-P
